This week’s word: Zombie: The nightmare we endure daily

As a girl, the idea of zombies seemed ridiculously unreal to me…and then I learned better. Turns out there are more zombies in the world than humans. However, I’ve noticed a trend that would suggest an antidote may have been found as the zombies are suddenly being cured and humanity is restoring itself.

One of my first run ins with a zombie was in my early teens. She was my best friend and started exhibiting the signs of becoming a zombie when she started dating her first boyfriend. Something about their interaction caused her to lose her power and sense of self. It wasn’t long before she was a shell of herself droning along doing only as her boyfriend commanded never realizing she was dying inside.

Over the years, I’ve watched most of the people around me turn into zombies. I’ve seen their health deteriorate as they go into, and stay in, unhealthy careers and relationships, I’ve seen their minds go foggy and become easily distracted by bling and other obsessions, and I’ve watched their spirits wither with the loss of creativity and passion for life and living.

Many times I narrowly escaped becoming a zombie myself. But I kept to myself and followed my own path of personal truth and belief avoiding the “bad” areas of town like the corporatized areas that only cared about profit and nothing of people and planet, or the places that the ego-driving men and women frequented where looks are your only asset. Yet something seems to have shifted. Over the past 3 years I’ve noticed more people on my path.

It seems the zombies are recovering as if they were given a cure and are rebirthing themselves by finding inner-balance physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. More importantly, they are discovering their intuitive senses and finding a deeper connection to all things.

As a result, the days of the zombies are numbered as they now understand that they are divine humans who can be happy, thriving and living an authentic life!
